Student Nutrition Program

HWDSB is committed to offering nutrition programs in each of its school buildings. They have partnered with Tastebuds Hamilton, a non-profit organization that oversees funding supports and liaises with local community food agencies. https://www.tastebudshamilton.ca/

In April 2026, Greensville School became part of the Tastebuds family! We operate on a bi-weekly delivery model, placing orders with Lococo's, MZ Foods and Drummond Farms. Students are offered daily snacks via self-serve bins placed throughout the school. As well, students have the option to request more food through the office, if necessary. 

The types of daily food offerings include: yogurt & granola, cheese strings, apples, carrots & humus, granola bars, apple sauce, fruit cups and crackers. 

As part of our funding grant, we purchased a new fridge to store increased product and ensure items remain fresh.

Students seem pleased with the variety of snacks being offered - we are listening and take their feedback into consideration when placing new orders.
